Costa del Sol’s Fuengirola Will Offer Single Person Pedalos To Make Malaga’s Beaches Safer This Summer in Spain

This summer, Fuengirola, a municipality in Malaga will have individual pedal boats on its beaches to guarantee greater safety.

THIS measure was announced by the councillor for Beaches, Javier Hidalgo, who explained that it is an innovative model that has the function of sports activity, but which also avoids crowds as well as sliding down the shared slides that these boats usually have installed.

“From the Fuengirola City Council we are always looking for the latest news in the Department of Beaches, because we always want all beachgoers to enjoy, especially in summer, the activities and services we provide for them, and we are adapting to the sanitary crisis that we are, unfortunately, going through, this year we are going to offer to all bathers individual pedal boats,” said Hidalgo.

He also detailed that “with these pedal boats, the crowding that normally occurs when this type of boat is rented will be avoided, since up to four or five people usually get on them.

“With this kind of individual boat we are going to increase safety, we are going to avoid the crowds that this type of boat normally generates and also, it has created a more sporty feel to the service that I think everyone is going to like,” he said.

About the hygiene and disinfection measures taken to clean these boats, the mayor explained that “after each use, it will be disinfected with a spray pump which contains disinfectant, sanitising, oxygenated product.”

There will be a total of five rental points across Fuengirola’s beaches.
