AXARQUIA HOSPITAL: Measures to avert Covid-19 contagion, credit: Junta de Andalucia
AXARQUIA HOSPITAL has upped anti-coronavirus safety measures to protect patients, outpatients and those accompanying them when entering the building. The ground floor now has two attention points where a celador (a non-medical member of staff) will give out information and provide sanitising hand gel. They will also explain the route patients should take to reach consulting rooms, at the same time preventing people from wandering unnecessarily through the hospital, hospital sources said. The celador will also keep watch over the flow of outpatients to ensure that there are neither long waits nor overcrowding in waiting rooms. The hospital management also announced that when a patient does not need a companion, this person must remain outside the centre for their own safety. This does not apply in the case of children, the elderly, those with cognitive or functional limitations or those about to have an operation.
