THE Port de Pollença fishing guild will sell freshly-caught fish directly at the Moll (fishing quay) within days.
This will help to distribute catches more widely, as at present most are sold through Palma, the fishing guild said.
It should also ensure that the market will not be saturated with more fish than it can currently absorb now that boats no longer go out on alternate days.
This routine was adopted after hotels, restaurants and bars were closed following the State of Alarm in mid-March and there were too few clients for catches.
At present the local guild is having a “very complicated” time, said its president Joan Suau: “We are hoping that there will be a market for all our fish once we pass to Phase Two,” he added.
