NERJA town hall approved municipal licences for five private projects amounting to €955,975.
Drawing attention to the current “grave economic and social crisis” resulting from the coronavirus pandemic,  Nerja’s mayor Jose Alberto Armijo emphasised that it was fundamental for the local government to intensify its efforts in dealing with municipal procedures.
This was particularly important regarding urban projects like the five recently-granted licences which would reactivate the economy and generate employment, Armijo said during a recent online meeting of the Local Government Board.
The same meeting also approved hydrological-hydraulic surveys of several sections of the River Seco and River Chillar which will be submitted to the regional government’s Agriculture department, defining their course inside the municipality.
The Board also approved temporary contracts for 66 street cleaners and nine drivers.
