CALPE’S business park and leisure area is a step nearer to becoming reality.
Alicante Province’s Official Bulletin (BOP) recently published confirmation that the La Marina de Ifach development, more often referred to as the Pou Roig industrial estate, has received the go-ahead.
Once the industrial estate and commercial area is up and running, local businesses will have adequate space to develop their activities and generate employment all year round, Calpe Town Hall said.
This will also discourage local companies from moving to industrial estates in neighbouring towns while attracting businesses linked to the tourism sectors, together with start-ups and technological companies.
The BOP announcement brought to an end 20 years of legal wrangling and controversies that in the past have prevented Calpe from developing its own business park and generating a new economic model to create employment.
The complex will also benefit Calpe shops as well as its small and medium businesses, the town hall pointed out, as well as all future leisure projects that will help to strengthen the local economy.
