Brits set to roast in 28ºC sunshine as hottest day of the year sees UK warmer than Marbella

The Met Office has predicted the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures in the 20s and highs of 28ºC in the London area.

Sunbathers have been making the most of their new-found freedom in the warm weather this week, as people flocked to parks and beaches after the coronavirus lockdown measures were eased.

The hot weather is likely to be a test of the new lockdown measures after Boris Johnson announced that Brits can now spend as much time as they like outside – as long as social distancing is observed.

For most, it’s dry and it’s increasingly sunny during Wednesday afternoon, with temperatures reaching mid-20s widely, and up to 28ºC in the South East.
