REPAIRS: Casa del Cable is almost back to normal, credit: Javea town hall
REPAIRS costing €20,000 are being completed at Javea’s Casa del Cable, seriously damaged by Storm Gloria last January. A local firm has carried out the work on the former telegraph office, whose façade, walls and metalwork were destroyed by pounding waves four months ago. The cultural centre and art gallery on Javea’s Paseo Marina Española promenade is due to reopen to the public next June once the interior has been cleaned and repainted. Meanwhile the Casa de Cultura is preparing health and safety measures to ensure that both the Casa del Cable and the Casa de Tena centre comply with anti-coronavirus regulations when they reopen.
