SOUND levels on Benidorm’s bar and restaurant terraces have been limited to background music at present.
Bar, restaurant and pub associations Abreca, Cobreca and Ociobal reached an agreement to keep the volume down during the first phase of de-escalation from the coronavirus lockdown.
“After several meetings with the three associations, we have established sound levels during terrace opening hours which end at 11pm,” Lorenzo Martinez, Public Safety and Commerce councillor, announced.
“As they do throughout the year, the Local Police will be controlling sound levels on the terraces to ensure that these remain within the agreed limits.”
The Local Police vigilance is combined with that of Commerce inspectors who are visiting reopened establishments to check that they are complying with the health and safety measures applied by the Health authorities, the councillor said.
