Man suffers severe burns to 45 per cent of his body when injured in a scrapyard fire

A WORKER was seriously injured when fire broke out at a Velez-Malaga scrapyard.
A member of public alerted the emergency services who sent out an ambulance, the provincial fire brigade and police to attend to the victim who was de-contaminating a vehicle at the time.
Police sources revealed afterwards that he had suffered severe burns to 45 per cent of his body and was flown in a helicopter air-ambulance to the Virgen del Rocio hospital in Sevilla where he was admitted to the burns unit.
The incident is now under investigation by Work Inspectors and the Centre for the Centre for the Prevention of Occupational Risks.
