The Administration’s Offices in Spain Will Open From May 25 With Appointments and Limited Capacity

Both the Government and Public Service Unions have agreed that administration offices shall be open to the public from May 25 onwards albeit with a limited capacity and pre-booked appointment system, however it will remain open until 9.00pm.

THIS notion has appeared in the electronic agreement between the Minister of Territorial Policy and Public Function, Carolina Darias, and the unions, CSIF, UGT, CCOO and GIG. This has formed part of framework of the transitional plan towards a new normality as they have incorporated organisational measures for a progressive face-to-face incorporation of public employees of the General State Administration.

This agreement involves guaranteeing the health of public employees, complying with all the health protection measures dictated by the heath authorities and incorporating measures at the organisational level for the proper development of their functions.

The agreement notes that the Administration offices will be open to the public as of May 25, which should coincide with Phase II of the de-escalation process, offices may be open till 9.00pm but they will only take appointments and follow the limited capacity organisational rule.

This agreement aims to progressively reincorporate workers and will prioritise those teleworking, it will avoid the incorporation of people with leaves due to temporary disability, people with symptoms or who have contact with symptomatic relatives, as well people with chronic diseases who may be declared vulnerable by the Ministry of Health.

This reincorporation will parallel the progressive start of activity and the “essential” people providing services in different economic sectors who begin to advance towards the new normal and return to work centres.
