OPERACION POTITO: Ensuring that babies and small children have an adequate diet. Photo credit: Pixabay
Operation Baby Food now underway in Axarquia ensures that local babies have adequate food despite parents’ economic problems. CANILLAS DE ACEITUNO Town Hall and a local pharmacy have joined Operación Potito (Operation Baby Food). They have joined the Playas de Torre del Mar Running Club and Velez-Malaga’s Red Cross branch in bringing the initiative to Axarquia. Operación Potito is campaigning to guarantee that the area’s babies and small children are adequately fed despite the economic problems that their families might be experiencing owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. Readers interested in supporting Operación Potito can leave donations in the different pharmacies taking part in the scheme and whose names can be found on Operacion Potito’s social media accounts. Those living in Canillas de Aceituno who would like to collaborate can do so at Farmacia Lupion throughout May. Potitos (jars of baby food) are the most-needed, but milk and baby cereal are also required. These will then be sent to the area’s charitable associations for distribution amongst disadvantaged families.
