AMJASA will allocate €1 million of its 2019 profits to a Social Fund for families affected by the Covid-19 crisis. The board of the municipally-owned company that supplies Javea’s domestic water voted unanimously to use the fund to waive bills or apply rebates for those in a vulnerable position or at risk from social exclusion. This will assist the numerous families facing ERTE furloughs or suffering the effects of closed businesses, particularly in a town dedicated to tourism, an Amjasa spokesman said. As the water company finished 2019 with a profit of €1.1 million, practically all of this will go to the fund.
