A DAD of eight who was believed to be recovering from coronavirus has died.
Construction worker Nicu Urzica, 34, was due to be discharged from hospital when his health quickly deteriorated and he succumbed to the killer bug on Saturday.
Now his wife Lidia and eight young children, are facing life without him.
To date generous well-wishers have raised over £90,000 for his devastated wife Linda and their children aged one to 12-years-old.
After coming down with what he initially thought was a cold, Mr Urzica from Transylvania in Romania, spent 10 days in hospital.
His brother Ianis told Obiectiv, he was put on oxygen and admitted to intensive care in a serious condition.
A week later doctors were talking abour discharging his brother, but things took a turn for the worse rapidly and he suffered some blood clots.
Mr Urzica died on April 11 after suffering a heart attack, according to Realitatea.
His family is trying to transport his body to Romania for a funeral.
