BREAKING NEWS: New coronavirus infection rate slows in Spain’s Balearics

THE latest coronavirus figures for Spain’s Balearic Islands reflect another slowdown in the new infection rate.
Sixteen more people have tested positive in the last 24 hours compared with yesterday’s increase of 27 and a rise of 19 reported on Saturday.
The Health Ministry puts the archipelago’s current Covid-19 case total at 1,550.
There has also been a drop in the number of coronavirus-related deaths. Another five people have tragically lost their lives to the illness since Sunday, but this compares with 12 fatalities in the previous 24 hours.
The death tally is now 117.
The most encouraging figures relate to recoveries. Fourteen more people have won their fight against the virus, putting the total at 862.
To date, 289 of the islands coronavirus cases are health workers.
