In order to meet the demands of the coronavirus, the Regional Ministry of Health has signed an agreement with the City Council to use the Hotel Meridional de Guardamar, a 54-room establishment associated with APHA, which will become the first complex designed for this purpose in the Vega Baja region.
The first patients are expected to be transferred from Monday, according to Alicante Plaza, in addition to health professionals who have been in contact with patients and need somewhere to stay to reduce the risk of infecting their families.
Other hotels in the province which are being used by the Ministry of Health are the San Juan Complex of the PSN Group, in San Juan, which takes patients, the Hostal Savoy, in Alcoy, to accommodate health professionals, and the Hotel Sol y Sombra de Benidorm, which could accommodate both patients and health personnel.
The Europa House Sun Beach Apartments in Guardamar, a complex also associated with APHA, is a fourth establishment in the province currently being used by medical staff during State of Alarm.
