Benalmadena Department of Social Welfare collaborates with non-profit organisations for food donations on the Costa del Sol

THE Councillor for Operational Services, Salvador Rodríguez, has announced that during the current health crisis, the delegation has strengthened its collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and various NGOs ‘for the collection and delivery of food for distribution to the most vulnerable people in the municipality.’

Rodríguez detailed the various food collections and deliveries in which the Operational Services workers carried out. “In collaboration with the Asociación Ruso Parlante, we moved 19,000 kilos of food from the old Cerveza Victoria factory to the warehouse located on Calle Pedro Serrano,” he explained. “Cáritas has made a contribution of 5,000 kilos of food, which we transport from Bancosol to its warehouse,” added Rodríguez. “In collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare, coordinated by Alicia Laddaga, we have organised the transfer of 10,000 kilos of food from Bancosol to the Casa de la Cultura,” and “from Cruz Roja, a contribution of 10,000 kilos of food was made, which was transferred by the Operational Services personnel from Bancosol to the Red Cross premises in Benalmádena Costa.”
