A day for Axarquia children to remember

BIRTHDAYS are happy, even for cooped-up children during the coronavirus lockdown.
And in Almuñecar, Velez-Malaga and Torrox amongst other Axarquia municipalities, firefighters, the Policia Local and Proteccion Civil make it a day to remember by visiting  children’s streets to wish them Happy Birthday.
A birthday girl or boy can receive a visit from both Policia Local and Proteccion Civil between 7.30 and 8.30pm if parents email amigopolicia@torrox.es beforehand, giving name and address.
If free, the Policia Local will later confirm the time the time when they can pass by.
In Velez-Malaga, Proteccion Civil bring birthday greetings to under-12s whose parents send them a WhatsApp message 24 hours previously on 663 999 049. Proteccion Civil will reply as soon as possible, indicating when they will be visiting.
Firemen in Almuñecar and La Herradura can wish local children Many Happy Returns if they receive a phone call at least 48 hours earlier on 958632121.
