Pasta, baking, David cutting his finger and the purchase of a $24 million condo in Miami. Team Beckham look to the future during lock-down at their stunning Cotswolds home

News reaches us that David and Victoria Beckham have closed on a deal to buy a condo in downtown Miami, worth a whopping $24 million. Meanwhile, taking lockdown in their stride, they get cooking at home in the Cotswolds

AS one of the most social families possible, lockdown was sure to come as a lifestyle change for team Beckham. Let’s face it, it’s a change for us all. Known for gracing the red carpet, alongside other A-Listers, as well as constantly showing a strong united front, they took to social media to allow fans and followers a sneak peak inside their stunning country retreat. While life goes on outside of the kitchen, they are clearly looking to the future, with the purchase of a multi-million dollar Miami home.

Despite world property markets slowing to a halt, due to the global health crisis, proving they are positive about the future, Beckham Brand Limited, David Beckham’s partnership and licensing company, closed on the 10,000-square-foot unit this week. The $24 million full-floor unit is located at the Zaha Hadid designed One Thousand Museum tower in downtown Miami. David is a part-owner of Inter Miami CF, a new Major League Soccer team. He and his partners, who include MasTec Chairman Jorge Mas and SoftBank’s Marcelo Claure, are in talks for to sign a lease for the Melreese Golf Course site close to Miami International Airport, with plans afoot for a mega mixed-use soccer complex.

However, taking time away from their glamorous lifestyles, David and Victoria helped daughter Harper to prepare dinner, posting images of their culinary fun to Instagram. Their kitchen, complete with an extra long table, flagstone floors and an Aga, is, in a word, fabulous. On the menu, beef ragu rigatoni and banana bread.

The family’s mansion is everything one would expect of the stylish duo, and certainly makes lockdown a more pleasurable experience than it is for most. Off the kitchen is a beautiful, yet homely dining area, which opens into a vast living room, ideal for their famed lavish parties. The family showed appreciation of Harper’s culinary skills, posting to social media ‘Number One Chef, Harper Seven.’ Also getting in on the act, Romeo, 17, showed his football skills while on a treadmill, filmed by proud mum Victoria.

If indoors becomes tiresome, the property also boasts a tennis court, plunge pool, and acres of mature gardens. Victoria explained that David is keeping busy with work, “Miami’s just waking up. He is working from home while doing the cooking. Life as we know it right now. Multitasking.” Despite Victoria’s ever growing fashion empire, it seems that when it comes to baking banana bread, they weren’t so sure. Explaining her confusion to David she said: “I design clothes and you play football – not so sure about measurements.” Perhaps the only measurement she knows is size zero. There was almost a medical emergency, as while chopping tomatoes, David nearly cut his finger off.

In the end, as with most things Beckham, it all worked out really well. David called the meal “bellissimo,” while Victoria told Harper: “You have done a really good job. You have been No1 chef.”

On the purchase of the Miami condo, a spokesperson for agent, Sotheby’s International Realty said: “The Beckhams will have access to amenities at One Thousand Museum that include a rooftop helipad, a sky lounge, bank vault, wellness centre, spa, and indoor lap pool on the 61st floor.
