Coronavirus crisis forces closure of village fountain at heart of Mojacar life on Spain’s Costa Almeria

THE coronavirus crisis has now forced the closure of Mojacar’s public fountain, traditionally the very heart of village life.
“Due to the situation Covid-19 situation, for reasons of public safety and in regard to the declared State of Alarm, the authorities have been forced to close off access to the public fountain to prevent the gathering and movement of people in public places,” the local council has posted on Facebook, adding, “We are sorry for the inconvenience this will cause.”
