THE premier Grand Slam of the tennis season, Wimbledon, has been called off because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The decision was seen as inevitable over the last fortnight, with the tournament being cancelled for the first time since the Second World War.
Wimbledon joins the Tokyo Olympics and Euro 2020 in the big list of sporting postponements and cancellations.
