Virus Emergency “No Go” for Sunday Shopping In Murcia

FOOD stores and supermarkets are no longer allowed to open on Sundays in designated tourist areas of the Murcia region during the current state of emergency.

The decision from the Murcia government takes in municipalities like Aguilas, Los Alcazares, San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar, Cartagena, Portman, and Mazarron.

Petrol stations, chemists, bakeries, and takeaway outlets are exempted.

Aguilas mayor, Mari Carmen Moreno, who called for the change, said:- “This decision will give a welcome rest to all staff involved in the good sector who have been working tirelessly since the start of the coronavirus crisis”.
