Netflix reduce Bandwidth Transmission at Request of EU

FOLLOWING a request from European Union Commissioner Thierry Breton, Netflix has agreed to reduce the bandwidth it uses in Europe but only by 25 per cent.

The Commissioner made the request in order to try to ensure that with so many people in lockdown due to coronavirus the internet would not crash.

As Netflix charge an additional fee for HD quality, they have been careful to ensure that those customers who do pay the extra don’t lose out or ask for a refund.

Overall picture quality in Spain shouldn’t reduce considerably and at this stage, it has not announced that it will make any changes in the USA.
