Disinfection protocol intensified on the streets of Alfaz del Pi on the Costa Blanca

THE cleaning and disinfection of public roads, bins and street furniture in Alfaz del Pi has been doubled as “an extraordinary measure” to fight the spread of COVID19.
Councillor for Technical Services and Street Cleaning, Oscar Perez, said a disinfection protocol was put in place last Friday, March 13, but has “been intensified” using pressurised equipment on streets and squares, and hydro-cleaners to remove stains and odours near supermarket, tobacconists, pharmacies and other premises still open to the public.

The scaled-up cleaning campaign also includes the disinfection of all bins and waste containers, as well as benches and other urban furniture.

Perez confirmed that all of these measures will be maintained until further notice, while thanking “all the public workers for their professional work and daily effort”.
He also called for “civility and compliance with the protective measures recommended by the health authorities to stop the spread of coronavirus”.
The cleaning work is being coordinated by the Department of Technical Services, Street Cleaning and Solid Waste, and carried out by Agricultores de la Vega-SAV.
