A butane gas bottle caused the explosion

AGE Concern Mallorca has issued useful information for residents who need butane gas bottles.
The organisation reports the old-style bottles are available from the butane gas depot located past the sports centre on the left-hand side on the road leaving Calvia village and going in the direction of Es Capdella Monday to Friday from 9am to 1pm and from 3-7pm and on Saturday mornings.
The new-type bottles are also available at the Son Ferrer service and, Age Concern points out, perhaps in other petrol stations in the Calvia and surrounding areas.
Anyone with a butane gas bottle contract can phone 971 682 000 during office hours to have them delivered to Illetas, Bendinat, Portals Nous, Costa den Blanes, San Caliu, Palma Nova, Magalluf, Son Ferrer, El Toro, Nova Santa Ponsa, Santa Ponsa, Costa de la Calma, Paguera, Calvia, Capdella, Galilea, Puigpuñent, Andratx, Port Andratx, S’Arraco or Sant Elm.
Delivery days vary according to location.
Age Concern Mallorca also reported that Calvia Town Hall’s face-to-face public assistance service and administrative procedures and related deadlines have been temporarily suspended due to the current state of alarm across Spain.
The local council said it is dealing with very urgent matters by telephone on 971 139 100 and questions and queries by email at calvia@calvia.com, comunicaciocalvia@calvia.com and internacional@calvia.com.
