THE OCAL Almeria city orchestra is offering an online musical treat to raise the spirits during these difficult times of enforced coronavirus confinement.

The orchestra is posting videos of home performances of beautiful pieces of music on its social media platforms with the idea of making the state of alarm ordeal more bearable.
Violinist Salvador Esteve got the ball rolling on Saturday and yesterday it was the turn of OCAL director, the British-born violinist and composer Michael Thomas.
OCAL invites other musicians to follow suit and upload their videos with the hashtag #LaOCALSeQuedaEnCasa, which they will then share.
“If we are all responsible with society soon we will be able to enjoy music together”, OCAL posted on its Facebook page, adding, “The fight against Covid-19 is everyone’s job.”
Michael Thomas added his own encouragement, commenting, “May music not stop, even in the toughest of times.”
