BOTH former Spanish Prime Minister José María Aznar and wife, ex-mayor of Madrid, Ana Botella are residents of the capital city, but they have decided to spend the lockdown in the comfort of their luxurious villa in the upmarket Guadalmina Baja suburb of Marbella.

According to reports, in the same way that the Royal Standard flies over Buckingham Palace when the Queen is present, the fact that the Spanish flag now flies in his garden and there is a police presence outside of the house alert to the fact that Aznar has survived one bomb attack whilst in power confirms his presence.

With Madrid suffering the worst outbreaks of Coronavirus and with the Aznars having their own secure property in Marbella, it makes absolute sense for them to decide to travel to the city which they know so well.
