Coronavirus update with the latest figures provided by Worldometer. Spain is reporting increases in cases and fatalities but the UK remains static.
Currently, in the world there are 156,056 COVID-19 cases with 5,819 deaths and 74,459 who have recovered. There are globally 69,869 (92%) in mild condition and 5,909 (8%) in serious or critical condition.
Let’s look at the figures just published.
China 80,824, no new cases
Italy 21,157 with 3,497 new cases
Iran 12,729 with 1,365 new cases
S. Korea 8,086 with 107 new cases
Spain 6,391 with 1,159 new cases
Germany 4,599 with 924 new cases
France 4,469 with 808 new cases
USA 2,499 with 252 new cases
UK 1,140 with 342 new cases
There are 49 new cases in Canada and France has 808 new cases with 12 new deaths. In Romania, the government has declared a State of Emergency beginning next week. Italy’s health system is overwhelmed and close to the point of no return for intensive beds
There are 4 new cases in Kuwait including 2 men who have died after travelling from the UK. With 57 new cases in Portugal, it is not surprising they are bringing in new measures. There are only 2 new cases in Russia with 59 cases in total. Land borders for Russia will close with Poland and Norway at midnight.
UK figures remain static with the latest 10 new fatalities over aged 60 and in “at-risk groups”. As we watch this devastating pandemic unfold let’s remember there is a large recovery rate.
