Spain’s Madrid recommends closing bars and restaurants, “Stay at home!” says Mayor

The Mayor of Madrid in Spain recommends the closing of bars and restaurants.

The licences for terraces have also been suspended since this Friday, The reason for that is a surge in infected people: yesterday the number of confirmed cases was 1,388, today Friday that number is almost at 2,000. The number of people who have died in Madrid is 4.

“Stay at home!” says José Luís Martínez-Almeida, Mayor of Madrid. “It is the best way we have to be able to foresee the spread of the virus. It will only be for three weeks, no more,” he predicts.

The best way to stop the pandemic, as proven in South Korea, is that the citizens take their responsibility and follow government advice. Keep a distance of one meter to other people. Stay at home if you don’t have to go outside, especially if you show symptoms! Avoid crowds and public transportation.
