Although Catalunia still has relatively fewer cases in total than Madrid, the acceleration of new cases is worrying.
Rumours, false ideas and fears are causing people to make wrong decisions and spread ignorance about the coronavirus pandemic.
Do not go directly to the hospitals if you show symptoms unless it’s urgent. If you show symptoms it’s advised to call the Andalusian health service at 900 400 061 and ask for advice on how to act.
Keep calm. There are reports of panic-buying happening in Spain, but Spain assures it’s citizens that there is no shortage of food – shopping can be done normally, supply in stores is refilled daily.
Citizens must understand that their participation is key to containing the spread of the coronavirus. Wash your hands often with soap and water, clean exposed surfaces, cough into your elbow and avoid touching your nose, face and mouth when outside. And most important of all: avoid crowds and stay home if possible.
