THE road giving access to Benidorm’s Avenida a de la Armada Española from Via Parque should be finished by the time Easter arrives on the Costa Blanca. Public Works councillor Jose Ramon Gonzalez de Zarate confirmed that the road would open within a month “or before Easter Week at the very latest.” The new road will boost the quality of life in this part of the La Cala, De Zarate declared during the latest of the meetings that he and Citizens’ Participation councillor Ana Pellicer hold each week with local residents in different parts of the town. This new road and others leading down from the Rajadell area will bring with them another 400 parking places, new pavements, LED street lights, a bicycle lane and improved accessibility. Once completed, the zone will be “totally new”, De Zarate said, making it much easier to reach the Poniente beach while reducing traffic along Armada Española.
