Mayor of Torremolinos takes part in talks for Carihuela facelift on the Costa del Sol

Regeneration Project: Public-private collaboration agreement Credit: Ayto de Torremolinos

THE Mayor of Torremolinos, José Ortiz, and the City Councillor, Maribel Tocón, have met last Friday with members of the Asociación Paseo Marítimo Carihuela-Torremolinos, and its president Miguel Sierra, to begin the regeneration project of La Carihuela. In May 2018, the Town Hall signed a public-private collaboration agreement that allows this association to prepare the study of a Special Urban Development Plan for the area that will include a general beautification plan for that emblematic neighbourhood of the city. The meeting, where Ortiz and Tocón have also been able to see first-hand the main demands of the merchants and residents of the area that make up the association have enabled them to set go ahead with the agreement.
