A PERMANENT visitor centre for the Pulpi giant geode is a step closer.
The council has signed a contract with a company to build a 400sqm platform on the esplanade of the mine where the geological phenomenon is located, the purpose of which will be to guarantee the stability of future facilities for public use.
The ultimate aim is to replace the existing provisional facilities.
The Mina Rica and its giant geode have become an important visitor attraction.
The mine interior is currently undergoing works to install a lift to make it easier for the public to get down to the level where the geode is located.
