EWN’s Dani Bowler dishes up a treat at Costa Blanca homeless refuge in Gandia

EURO Weekly News’s very own private dining chef, Dani Bowler, has once again put his culinary skills to great use and prepared a delicious meal for 50 formerly homeless men at the Franciscan Refuge for the Homeless in Palma de Gandia.

Fresh from cooking for an Indian billionaire, the Masterchef helped prepare sticky chicken wings with coleslaw and homemade Shepherds pie for the residents.

Dani´s mum Jacqueline Lynda Bowler created an array of mouth-watering deserts, including an apricot bread and butter pudding and a white chocolate brownie, while Donna Adams helped Dinio Trubbianelli of I Love Albir peel potatoes and serve the food.

Dino added: “We also need to say a big thank you to Lisa Griffin at the Brew Rock, for sponsoring the whole event, generously paying for all the food. This means that the €100 allowance we get could be donated as always to this wonderful home.

“Please support this refuge when you can, they do stellar work providing a safe and clean environment to some very weak and poorly men.”


You can donate clothes and bric-a-brac to the Giving 4 Giving charity, who are desperately short of stock to sell to support this great cause and many others.

“Thank you to the Masonic Lodge they sent us a few weeks ago for their donation of €500 and to Lois G Clark for offering us a TV which we shall get sent up their soon,” said Dino, adding that the refuge needs a large toasting machine, if there is a business willing to help with this ‘urgent need’.
