ALL is in place for the Starlite Festival to return to the open air stage in the Nagüeles Quarry above Marbella later this year.

The council has agreed to give the organisers access with effect from May 15 until September 30 to allow for the construction and removal of all of the stages and equipment and the series of concerts which will run from July 2 until August 29.

It has been confirmed that despite some delays, the sum of €124,961 has been paid to the council in respect of the 2019 rental and this year as there will be more dates involved, the amount due has increased to €157,343.

The council is now urging the Starlite organisers to make greater reference to Marbella in their advertising as although, the city is synonymous with the event, it is believed that it would be more advantageous to refer to Starlite Marbella rather than Starlite or Starlite Catalana Occidente.

Names announced so far for the event include Il Divo, Bonnie Tyler, Simple Minds, Lionel Richie, Nile Rogers and Chic alongside a number of established Spanish artists such as Raphael.
