An auxiliary nurse has been suspended from a Malaga hospital for alleged ‘inappropriate touching’ of two elderly patients. The incidents are said to have taken place on the 21st February 2020 at the Hospital Clinico de Malaga while the patients were being bathed.

The nurse was arrested by police on the 26th February after the families of both patients reported the incidents to the authorities. According to Malaga Hoy, the nurse in question potentially faces ‘sexual abuse’ charges.

Yesterday, the Hospital Clinico de Malaga, reported that it has suspended the nurse and his pay until the outcome of the court hearing. It also stated that it ‘profoundly rejects any form of aggression’, and has offered both patients and their families any support they may need. Both female patients, who are in their eighties, have since been released from the hospital and are now back at home with their families.
