INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

TEULADA-MORAIRA activities for International Women’s Day begin Friday, March 6 and continue throughout the month. For the next three days the town hall will be floodlit in purple, the colour of the women’s movement in Spain, announced equality councillor Mamen Botija. An institutional manifesto will be read out next Monday, March 9, in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento at 12 noon, Botija said. Forthcoming events include a Personal Defence workshop by the Club Aikido El Vergel held in the gymnasium at the Sant Vicent Ferrer school in Teulada on at 11am March 14. Readers interested in attending should register before March 12 at the SIT offices in Teulada town hall and Edificio La Senieta in Moraira.
There will be a Charity March on Sunday, March 15, organised by Teulada’s Amas de Casa women’s association, and participants should register beforehand at the Amas de Casa headquarters or the www.somesport.com website. There will be another Personal Defence workshop on Saturday, March 21, organised by the Moraira Asociacion de Amas de Casa y Consumidores (Women’s and Consumers’ Association). This is aimed at the over-60s and will be held at 11am in the gymnasium at the Cap d’Or school in Moraira. There will be another Personal Defence workshop by Club Aikido El Vergelat 11am on March 28 at the Moraira’s Cap d’Or School.
