The Spanish Meteorological Agency has issued orange and yellow warnings across Spain for Storm Jorge, which is due to land on the Spanish peninsula on Saturday.
As waves of up to six metres high batter the coastline the winds approaching hurricane-strength are powerful enough to tear down anything in their path, the Guardia Civil and emergency services are all on high alert and expect to see casualties.
The ports of Santander and Bilbao in the North of Spain have cancelled or delayed many departures due to the Storm and it is strongly advised to check your booking before leaving for the ferry, it is simply too dangerous to sail in the Atlantic/Bay of Biscay seas.
Tuesday should see a change in weather, strong winds will still prevail around the Southern Mediterranean but things should brighten up a little and hopefully, the cold front will have moved on by then.
