SUNDAY March 1 is St David´s Day and the Benalmadena Council is encouraging residents to join in with the Welsh Society of the Costa del Sol to celebrate from 2pm at CJs bar in Avenida Bonanza.

The Welsh Society is a group of expatriates who got together with the objective of raising funds for various charities, both here in Spain and in South Wales.

Since 2012 they have raised more than €13,000 for charities, including the Down Syndrome Associations, the Premature Infants Unit at the Maternal Hospital of Malaga, Diabetes, Age Care, 4 Paws and several charities fighting cancer.

This is the eighth year that the council and society have worked together to promote a fun day which sees many residents enjoy tasty local cuisine and enjoy the music that Wales is so famous for and this year all funds raised will help a local woman suffering from motor neuron disease.
