Environmental Education this Year’s Theme for Costa del Sol Council

: Demonstrating the problem of wipes Credit: Ayuntamiento de Casares

THE town of Casares is dedicated to improving the environmental health of the municipality which stretches from the mountain to the coast and has introduced an Environmental Education Program which will be rolled out during 2020.

Its latest event was aimed at the use of wet wipes which are then flushed down the toilet causing obstructions and blockages in drains as well have the possibility to contaminate the water.

There is potential damage to the environment by disposing of these improperly and their manufacture can also have harmful effects so the council suggests that it is best to look for alternative options.

This particular awareness campaign will be transferred to both Casares Costa and Secadero in due course but the council plans to promote a different environmental initiative every month.
