Toll Road Operator Fights against Free Autopistas in Spain

SPANISH toll road operator Albertis is producing articles concerning the importance to the Spanish economy of maintaining the payment concept to use major roads.

As the AP-1, AP-4 and more sections of the AP-7 become free, the former manager of these roads can see its income dropping and argues that with these roads alone the Spanish government will lose €450 million in tax.

In addition, it will be the Spanish taxpayer who will have to fork out extra to maintain the roads so short term saving could cause long term cost.
