Manchester Dealer Jailed After Being Caught with £3,000 Worth of Drugs in Mercedes

Numan Ahmed, 36

A man caught with £3,000 worth of drugs in his Mercedes – Benz has been jailed.

Numan Ahmed, 36, has been convicted of four counts of possession with intent to supply both Class A and B drugs.

Police stopped him during a patrol in Hulme. Officers were alert after witnessing ‘suspicious activity’ involving Ahmed’s Mercedes C-Class.

Once officers had approached Ahmed, they discovered a substantial amount of cash in the vehicle. They also found a stash of Class A and Class B drugs, suspected to be valued at around £3,000. They also retrieved several mobile phones.

Ahmed pleaded not guilty, but was convicted after a seven day trial at Manchester Crown Court. He was jailed for five years.

“I hope this sentencing serves as a stark warning to those involved or considering getting involved in this type of crime, which so often blights communities” said PC David Stapely of Greater Manchester Police after the sentencing.
