SEVERAL members of the San Roque council made the trip to the town of Los Barrios to support the ‘For a Smile’ charity at their gala which aimed to raise funds to improve the facilities of the hospitals in Campo de Gibraltar for the treatment of cancer in children and young people. More than 400 guests took part in the gala which raised around €75,000 for the charity on the International Day of Childhood Cancer and many municipalities in the Campo took part to show their support for this worthy cause. Last year, the San Roque council entered into several collaborative agreements with the charity and was pleased to support a solidarity event in Guadiaro last October as it reflects the support that residents of the town have for this exceptional charity.
