Costa Brava pensioner seriously injured in tussle with hugger muggers

AN 80-year old man was left with serious injuries when he was targeted by so-called ‘hugger muggers’ after his luxury watch in Ampuriabrava on the Costa Brava.

The elderly man tried to resist the assault, suffering severe bruising and wounds to his arms as they clawed at him to get what they wanted.

Both women managed to get away.

According to press reports the victim told Castello Local Police and the Roses Mossos d’Esquadra Catalan police the two women could be Romanians, aged somewhere between 25 and 30.
