THE Juan Carlos I aircraft carrier is on course to dock at Almeria city port at the end of next week, providing a golden opportunity to take a look around what is the biggest ship in the Spanish navy.
The huge craft is expected to arrive on Friday February 28, along with the Santa Maria frigate.
It is due to be in port for three days and will be opened up to the public for free guided tours with specialised military personnel.
The Juan Carlos I last visited Almeria in June 2017, where it moored up at the Poniente inner harbour. Visitors took visitors to the shop by bus from the Levante quay parking area.
The aircraft carrier is considered the jewel in the Spanish naval crown. Entirely Spanish designed and built, it was named after the reigning monarch at the time it was launched.
