Prices fall 1% in January in the Region of Murcia and the interannual rate rises 1.2%

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) of the Region of Murcia decreased by 1% last January compared to December 2019. On the other hand, the annual rate of the CPI increased by 1.2%, according to data released by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

In this sense, the Region of Murcia register the fourth largest decrease by communities along with Andalusia, Aragon, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Catalonia, Extremadura and the Basque Country. The INE has attributed the rebound in the annual CPI rate in January to the rise in the prices of electricity, clothing and footwear, and also the prices of non-alcoholic beverages and food, especially fish and seafood.
