Woman, 36, is charged for repeatedly calling emergency services to complain that her parents cut off her phone

A 36-year-old woman is facing a fourth-degree charge after repeatedly calling 911 to report that her parents had shut off her cell phone plan.

Seloni Khetarpral, was arrested on Thursday by Massillon police after she made several calls to the Regional Emergency Dispatch Centre and was told only to call for legitimate reasons.

Seloni continued to make emergency calls believing that her parents ending their payments on her phone to be an emergency issue.

The calls began on Thursday, February 13, and Seloni demanded a police response. When told not to use 911 for the complaint, she called again several hours later.

According to court documents, she was “belligerent” and insisted that it was a legitimate reason to call the emergency department.

She was arrested and charged with disrupting public services.
