Aircrew Association Costa Blanca pays tribute to longest serving chairman who died last month

IT WAS with much sadness that the Aircrew Association Costa Blanca recently heard of the passing of its longest serving Chairman and Former President, Brian Weskett.

Brian died in the UK on Thursday, January 30, after his health deteriorated rapidly, following major surgery in December last year.

Brian was an active and popular member of the Aircrew Association from September 1992 for 28 years.  He served as its Chairman for 12 years before becoming President in 2012.  Brian and his wife, Anne, were well-known and much admired and respected members of the wider community on the Costa Blanca where they were also members of the Royal Society of St George.  They were also frequent and enthusiastic bowls players on the many Greens in the region.  They moved to UK permanently in February 2016.

Brian’s funeral will take place at Worthing Crematorium on Monday, February 24.

An Association spokesperson said: “Brian will be sadly missed but he will be remembered fondly by all those who knew him.  He was a special gentleman and friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Anne and her family at this sad time.”
