Lewis Burton, Caroline Flack’s partner breaks his silence saying: ” I wasn’t allowed to be there”

Caroline Flack’s boyfriend Lewis Burton has posted a tribute to his girlfriend following her tragic death on Saturday.

Just hours before her death she had Instagrammed Valentine’s Day snaps of herself with her dog Ruby looking happy and healthy – but no words were attached.

The Love Island host, 40, died by suicide on Saturday, 18 days before she was due to face trial after being charged with assault following a row with her boyfriend. She had denied the charge.

A lawyer for Flack confirmed that the star took her own life. ‘My heart is broken we had something so special,’ her 27-year-old boyfriend wrote this morning on social media. ‘I am so lost for words I am in so much pain I miss you so much I know you felt safe with me you always said I don’t think about anything else when I am with you and I was not allowed to be there this time I kept asking and asking.’

He added: ‘I will be your voice baby I promise I will ask all the questions you wanted and I will get all the answers nothing will bring you back but I will try make you proud everyday. ‘I love you with all my heart.’

Alongside his message he shared a sweet photo of the pair on holiday, with Caroline wrapping her arms around the tennis player.

The shock news prompted a flood of tributes from celebrities but also questions about the pressures faced by TV celebrities and about the decision to press ahead with her prosecution for an alleged assault on her boyfriend.
