Family arrested in Spain’s Costa del Sol for threatening resident with shotgun leading police to seize haul of illegal weapons

THE National Police have arrested three family members in Spain’s Costa del Sol for threatening a resident with a shotgun, leading officers to discover a large haul of illegal weapons stashed in their vehicle. 

As reported by investigators working on the case, the detainees – a mother, father and son – had confronted a local resident in Ronda with the firearm in regards to a dispute that took place over Christmas.

When officers arrived at the scene they heard shots being fired into the air, with the three family members fleeing in their car. A dramatic police chase then pursued with police being able to intercept the car a short time later.

The mother and father were arrested and put in handcuffs however the son had escaped on foot running through the streets with the weapon. He was later found hiding out in a recycling bin with the shotgun in his hand.

Upon a search of the vehicle a haul of illegal weapons were found, including an additional firearm, 17 cartridges, 3 knives and an axe.

As Euro Weekly News understands, all of the arrested individuals have been charged with intimidation with violence, possession of illegal weapons and child neglect as four minors were found in the family’s home without any adult supervision.
