ALMERIA organic produce is well represented at a major international trade fair being staged this week in the German city of Nuremberg. Diputacion de Almeria Agro-food deputy Antonio J. Rodriguez is heading the provincial government delegation at the Biofach fair, considered one of the most important in the world for the production and marketing of organic products. The administration is there to support provincial agro-food companies and at the same time to promote and establish new contacts in order to strengthen the international expansion of the ‘Sabores Almeria’ gourmet brand. “The potential of Biofach has surprised us. It is an unbeatable showcase for everything related to organic production”, the Agro-food deputy commented. “We are undoubtedly very pleased to see how it is promoting everything related to a healthy diet, and how the presence of Almeria companies, technology and investigation and the quality products of Almeria are making an impression at such an important fair”, Rodriguez added. “The future of fruit and vegetable production and production in Almeria is going along the path of natural, health and organic, and in this Almeria is a leader.” Almeria companies present at the fair are promoting products ranging from snacks of dehydrated vegetables and aromatic herbs, yoghurts and milkshakes to organic pest control systems.
